The Mason County Central boys basketball team outlasted Beal City in overtime 36-34 in a Class C regional semifinal game on Monday evening.

The Spartans trailed 8-7 after the first quarter then tied the game 13-13 at halftime.

Mason County Central outscored Beal City by an 11-8 margin during the third quarter to take a 24-21 lead into the fourth, but were outscored 10-7 down the stretch to force overtime.

The Spartans outscored Beal City by a 5-3 margin during the extra quarter. The Aggies got off a half-court shot at the buzzer, but it missed the mark.

Jeffery Carrier paced the Spartans with 17 points and 14 rebounds while Joe Raider added six points and nine rebounds.

Beal City was led by Ryan Shafer and Logan Chelmer with nine points apiece.

Mason County Central will face the winner of North Muskegon and Sanford Meridian Early College in the regional finals on Wednesday. Tipoff will be at 7  p.m. at Beal City High School.
