A slight advantage in the fourth quarter allowed the Mason County Central girls basketball team to defeat Morley-Stanwood 50-45 on Tuesday in Class C regional action in Morley.

The Spartans led 13-10 after one quarter and 26-24 at halftime. The game was tied 35-35 after three quarters, then the Spartans captured the win with a 15-10 edge in the fourth quarter.

Rachel Allen led Mason County Central with 18 points, eight rebounds, four assists, four blocks and three steals. Kelsey Kosiboski added eight points and eight steals for the winners.

Mason County Central now advances to Thursday’s 7 p.m. regional championship game against Kent City at Morley-Stanwood High School. The winner of that game will advance to the Class C state quarterfinals.
