The Shelby boys basketball squad advanced to the Class C district semifinals, defeating Hart 49-40 on Monday in quarterfinal action.
The Tigers jumped out to a 16-6 advantage after the first quarter, led 18-14 
at halftime and increased their advantage to 33-22 heading into the final stanza.
Tyler Schouten paced Shelby with 18 points and five rebounds while Kristian Oberlin added 11 points and six rebounds.
The Pirates were led by Angel Salgado with 13 points while Alec Kempker added 12 points and nine rebounds.
Shelby will host Mason County Central on Wednesday in the Class C district semifinals. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.
