The Kent City boys basketball squad’s strong second half led to a 48-38 victory over Western Michigan Christian on Wednesday in a Class C district semifinal game.

The Eagles outscored the WMC by a 36-23 margin during the second half.

The Warriors led 8-4 after the first quarter and had a 15-12 lead into halftime.

The Eagles came out strong in the third quarter on a 9-0 run and grabbed a 27-24 advantage into the fourth quarter.

Kent City didn’t let up in the fourth, outscoring the Warriors 21-14 in the quarter, 19 of which came from the free throw line to secure the victory.

The Eagles (21-0) were led by Eli Carlson and Fraser Wilson with 13 and 10 points, respectively.

The Warriors (12-9) were paced by Hayden Hubers with 14 points.

Kent City will matchup with North Muskegon on Friday in the Class C district finals held at Ravenna High School.
