The Mona Shores baseball squad doubled up Montague 10-5 on Thursday to remain unbeaten early in the season.

The Sailors, who are now 4-0 on the season, were led offensively by Austin Flowers with three hits, while Matt Martin, Connor Belanger, Kolbe Trovinger, Ryan Gillings and Tyler Warren chipped in with two.

Connor Vallie earned the win on the mound for Mona Shores, tossing four innings and striking out six batters.

ORCHARD VIEW 12, SHELBY 1 – The Cardinals pounded out 11 hits in the victory that lasted only five innings due to the mercy rule.

Chase Keller led OV with four RBI’s, while Dakota Sibley and Mike Grinnell each added three. Brett Shawl earned the win on the mound tossing seven strikeouts.

Orchard View improved to 3-1 on the season.

SPRING LAKE 10, ALLENDALE 6 – The two teams were tied at 6-6 until the Lakers put four runs on the board in the 6th inning to avoid the sweep in the last game of a three game set.

TJ Cunningham, who threw two innings in relief, was the winner pitcher for Spring Lake.

The Laker offense was led by David Rumptz with two hits and two RBI’s.

KENOWA HILLS 6-6, FRUITPORT 2-2 – Lucas Kleyn led the Trojans with two hits in Game 1, while Sam Steinhauer had two hits in Game 2.

The Trojans received a stellar performance from Parker Tawney on the mound in Game 2, which lasted eight innings. Tawney threw 7 2/3 innings only allowing two unearned runs.

HESPERIA 7-8, PENTWATER 3-0 – The Falcons opened their season with a pair of losses in a non-conference matchup with Hesperia.

Glenn Miller threw four inning for Pentwater in Game 1 and recorded seven strikeouts while allowing one earned run. Owen Knudsen and Miller each recorded an RBI for the Falcons.

OAKRIDGE 12, GRANT 0 – Hunter Jennings threw a gem for the Eagles which included seven strikeouts while only allowing one hit.

Oakridge was led offensively by Austin Fairchild, who went 3-for-3 with three runs scored, while Kolbe Stewart, Blake Masterman and Jennings each added two hits. Masterman also had four RBI’s.
