The Fruitport softball team split a pair of close games with Holland on Friday in a non-league doubleheader.
The Trojans won the first game 2-0, with Aurora Wilks tossing a complete-game shutout with five strikeouts. Bryonne Tober knocked in a run for Fruitport in the victory.
Fruitport fell 1-0 in the nightcap. Wilks and Rachel Paulsen combined to pitch a strong game for the Trojans, but the offense couldn’t light up the scoreboard.
