Mona Shores girls soccer was able to hold off a stingy Spring Lake defense in their 1-0 win on Wednesday night in a non-league contest.

The Sailors found their lone goal off the foot of Alexa Dorsey in the opening half. Erin Powers assisted on the tally for Mona Shores.

Mona Shores improves to 3-0 this season and is back in action on Saturday when it travels to Grand Haven.

ORCHARD VIEW 5, MUSKEGON 0 – The Cardinals jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead as Lily Johnson opend up with a the first of her two goal on a penalty kick midway through the first 40 minutes. Jourden Sharps followed up with two goals to lead Orchard View into halftime. Carly Schaeffer assisted on Sharps’ first goal. Mikaela Epplett gave OV a 4-0 lead off an assist from Sharps. Sydney Slater posted the win in goal for Orchard View with four saves.

MUSKEGON CATHOLIC 5, FRUITPORT 2 – The Crusaders scored four second-half goals and overcame a 2-1 first half deficit to find the win. Fruitport’s Isabelle Raven had a goal and an assist and Maddison Wescott added a goal.

CADILLAC 6, LUDINGTON 0 – The Orioles had no responses in their loss to Cadillac on Wednesday in a non-league matchup. Ludington is now 1-1 on the season.

TUESDAY

OAKRIDGE 8, MASON COUNTY CENTRAL 0 – The Eagles opened their West Michigan Conference season with a big first-half. Oakridge scored seven goals  to take a commanding lead into halftime. Lizzi Tilford scored a pair of goals for Oakridge while Breeanna Jasick, McKenzie Swarts, Leah Lowry, Alexis Carroll, Linea Holmer and Avery Wildig each scored goals. Andi Cartwright and Alexis Florez each had two assists for Oakridge.
