The hot bat of Grand Haven’s Haley Aldred led the Bucs to a pair of softball wins over Reeths-Puffer on Saturday. 

Aldred belted a pair of 3-run home runs, one in each game, and posted six hits and 10 RBIs on the day.

Grand Haven captured the opener 8-7 and followed up with a 9-5 win in Game 2.

In Game 1, Aldred hit a two-run double in the sixth to give the Bucs an 8-6 lead and victory. Grand Haven highlighted the third inning with back-to-back home runs with Aldred leading and Kaelyn Stafford following up with a solo shot.

Baby Hang pitched all seven innings for Grand Haven’s win in the opener, giving up 12 hits while striking out four.

Gracie Vermurlen, Alyssa Spencer, Hang and Stafford each had a pair of hits for Grand Haven.

Kennedy Cascio’s RBI single in the sixth inning broke open the Game 2 victory for the Bucs. Ashlyn Hall and Hang each posted a pair of hits while Madison Shumaker was the winning pitcher.

GRANDVILLE 9, GRAND HAVEN 5 – The Bucs were led by Megan Faber and Aldred with two hits each and Ashlyn Hall hit a double.
