The Muskegon Community College baseball squad dropped both games of a doubleheader on Thursday.

The Jayhawks lost the opener to Kalamazoo Valley Community College by a 7-5 margin, then was shut down 7-0 during the nightcap.

MCC is now 12-13 on the season and 6-6 in conference play.

In Game 1, Jeremy Karthan suffered the loss, allowing six runs on three hits while striking out two batters in 4 1/3 innings.

The Jayhawks were paced in Game 2 by Brett Veltema with two hits while pitcher Jon Henry suffered the defeat, allowing five runs on five hits while striking out seven batters in six innings.
