The Montague baseball squad earn a pair of non-league wins on Tuesday in a baseball doubleheader against Tri-County.

The Wildcats opened the twin bill with an 8-6 win, then cruised past Tri-County 11-1 during the nightcap.

In Game 1, Asher Erickson tossed the win and Remington Schneider picked up the save.

Montague’s offense was led by Zach Buchberger, Markell Owens and Brennan Schwarz with two hits each.

In Game 2 Schneider pitched a complete game while striking out eight batters.

Luke Marsh had two hits and Nick Stever added a two-run RBI double.

The Wildcats are now 7-9 overall on the season.

MONA SHORES 11, GRAND RAPIDS UNION 1 –  The Sailors completed the three game sweep of the Red Hawks with a 5-inning mercy. Connor Belanger earned the win, tossing all five innings and striking out seven. Austin Flowers led the offense with two doubles, two RBIs, two runs and two stolen bases. Matt Martin, Tyler Warren and Andrew Moss each added two hits. Mona Shores improved to 17-5 overall and 8-1 in league play.

GR COVENANT CHRISTIAN 13, MUSKEGON CATHOLIC 9 – The Crusaders dropped their record to 12-4 on the season.

Max Price suffered the loss, allowing five runs on 14 hits. Price also led MCC with four hits and two RBIs while Josh Holden added two hits.

GR WEST CATHOLIC 12, SPRING LAKE 3 – The Falcons scored five runs in the first to take a commanding lead. David Rumptz led the Laker offense with a hit and two RBIs, while Griffin Lorimer had a hit and two runs scored.

FRUITPORT 6, REETHS-PUFFER 4 – The Trojans pounded out 11 hits with Shamori Pollard leading the way with three hits.

Logan Wadland earned the win, throwing five innings and striking out six.

Parker Tawney chipped in with two hits. The Rockets were led by Cole Aerts with three hits.

REED CITY 12, HART 4 – Keagan Foster and Rece Schlukebir led the Pirate offense, combining for five of the eight total hits. Hart’s pitcher Seth Andritsis tossing four innings of the game.
