The West Michigan Whitecaps returned home on Friday and treated the home crowd to a 7-2 win over Lake County.

Whitecaps starter Brad Bass took a no-hitter into the seventh inning before having it broken up by an Austen Wade single. Bass finished his night allowing four hits, two walks, two earned runs and three strikeouts over 6 and 1/3 innings to pick up his third win of the year.

Reliever Wladimir Pinto tossed the final 2 and 2/3 innings, allowing only one hit and one walk while striking out five.

Offensively, the Whitecaps were led by Alexis Garcia with three hits and two runs scored while Colby Bortles had two hits and three RBIs.

West Michigan is now 21-19 on the year and in third place of the Midwest League Eastern Division, 5 and ½ games behind first place Lansing.

The Whitecaps will continue their home series against Lake County on Saturday with first pitch at 7:05 p.m.
