The Mona Shores softball team had an up-and-down day on Saturday at the Hudsonville Milan Invitational.

The Sailors dropped their first game against Grand Rapids South Christian, 14-4. Taylor Dew, Ryleigh Wehler and Veronica Kastelic each had two hits for Mona Shores.

The Sailors got back on track in their second game, beating Zeeland West 8-0. Lauryn Patterson pitched the win for Mona Shores, striking out five. Dew, Wehler, Emma Lynn, Ellery Rose and Madison Mettler each had two hits.

Mona Shores is now 15-11 on the season.
