North Muskegon and Western Michigan Christian split a non-league baseball doubleheader at Marsh Field on Monday, with the Norse taking the opener 3-2 and WMC taking the nightcap 5-3.

In the opener, North Muskegon rallied from a two-run deficit to get the victory. Freshman Charlie Branch got the win in relief, tossing two innings and striking out four. Jimmy Cobb had a triple for North Mukegon. Jamo Goorman and Nathan VanderWeide each had two hits for the Warriors.

In the second game, WMC’s Nathan VanderWeide got the win on the mound. Goorman had a pair of hits for the Warriors while Nick Moser and Michael Kamps each had one hit. North Muskegon’s Charlie Branch had one hit.

WMC is now 12-6 overall.

MONTAGUE 13-10, MANISTEE 2-0 – Montague swept Manistee in a non-league doubleheader on Monday.

In the first game, pitcher Sebastian Archer went the distance, scattering five hits in the five-inning victory. In the nightcap, Corbin Berry pitched all six innings in the shutout win, giving up five hits.

Nick Stever led Montague offensively in the two games with four hits and four runs. Michael McKeown added three hits and two RBIs, Markell Owens had two hits and two RBIs, and Corbin Berry had two hits.

Montague improved to 9-9 on the season.

CSAA

HESPERIA 4-9, WHITE CLOUD 2-0 – Scott Peters was dominant on the mound for Hesperia in the first game, tossing seven innings, scattering three hits and striking out 11. Hesperia had just enough offense with five hits and five stolen bases. Hunter Dickinson had one hit and an RBI while Andrew Fredrickson had a hit.

In the nightcap, Hesperia pounded its way to victory with 13 hits. Peters led the way with two hits, two RBIs, two steals and two runs. Riese Wygant added two hits and two RBIs and Chris Stapel had two hits and scored a run. Andrew Fredrickson pitched a great game, going seven innings with nine strikeouts and only giving up two hits.
