The undefeated Spring Lake softball team picked up four impressive wins in a pair of doubleheaders in Traverse City over the weekend.

The Lakers started their big weekend with a 17-3 and 7-3 sweep of Traverse City Central.

In Game 1, Linsey Paggeot had four hits and four RBIs, including a three-run homer.  Madelyn Nelson also had four hits and scored 3 runs while Leah Vaughan and Molly Poole each had two hits, with Poole knocking in four runs. Lauren Hellman homered for Spring Lake while Vaughan got the win on the mound.

In Game 2, Hellman, Vaughan and Jenna Core each had two hits while Janna Ercole had a key RBI in the fourth inning.  Vaughan was the winning pitcher, scattering four hits and striking out seven.

On Saturday the Lakers kept things rolling with 5-0 and 14-2 victories over Traverse City West.

Nelson had two hits and scored twice in the opener for Spring Lake while Paggeot had two hits and three RBIs. Vaughan pitched the win, scattering two hits and striking out 12.

In Game 2, Spring Lake had 21 hits en route to the victory. Core had four hits and four RBIs while Hellman, Nelson, Paggeot and Poole each added three hits. Lauren Somers was the winning pitcher, giving up four hits and striking out three.

Spring Lake is now 22-0 on the season.
