Amy England exploded for five first-half goals on Thursday to lead the Shelby girls soccer team to a 7-1 victory over Brethren in a Division 4 district semifinal game.

England actually have five goals and two assists in the first half for Shelby, which led 7-0 at halftime. Other scorers for the Tigers were Kimberly Hernandez and Priscilla Salgado. Gabby Brito, Sophie Clary and Bryghton Lee each recorded assists.

Shelby will play Houghton Lake in the district championship game on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Big Rapids Crossroads Academy.
