The West Michigan Whitecaps used a strong offensive effort to win on the road once again, defeating South Bend 10-3.

Eight of the nine starters for the Whitecaps had a hit on Tuesday with Jose Azocar and Dylan Rosa each leading the team with two this. Colby Borltes, Reynaldo Rivera and Rosa all had two RBIs on the night for West Michigan.

Starting pitcher Matt Manning dazzled, allowing one run on eight hits while also striking out eight in seven innings of work. Manning picked up his third win of the season, improving his record to 3-3.

The Whitecaps are now 40-36 overall on the year and 4-2 in the second half, a game behind Lansing for first place in the Midwest League Eastern Division.

On Wednesday, the Cubs and Whitecaps will finish out their series with first pitch at 7:05 p.m.
