The Montague baseball team beat a pair of conference rivals to win a Division 3 district championship on Saturday.

The Wildcats defeated North Muskegon 5-1 in the semifinal round. A four-run fourth inning made the difference for Montague. Sebastian Archer, Zachary Buchberger and Remington Schneider each had a pair of hits.

Pitcher Luke Marsh got the win, tossing 6 2/3 innings, scattering three hits, striking out six and walking only one.

Montague went on to defeat Shelby 13-0 in the district championship game. March got the win in the mercy-shortened game, giving up only one hit while striking out nine and walking only one.

Archer, Buchberger, Stever, Marsh and Brennan Schwarz all had two hits for the winners.

Montague will face Kent City in regional semifinal action on Saturday. The winner will advance to the regional finals later in the day.
