The Spring Lake softball team captured their second straight Division 2 regional championship on Saturday at Hope College.

The Lakers cruised past Holland Christian 11-0 in the finals after sneaking past Wayland by a 2-1 margin in the semifinal contest.

Spring Lake pounded 15 hits led by Leah Vaughan, who had four hits and four RBIs, while Linsey Paggeot added three hits and four runs scored.

Lauren Hellman and Lauren Somers added two hits each for the Lakers.

Vaughan pitched the win for Spring Lake, tossing a two-hit shutout in four innings.

The Lakers, who are now 40-0 on the season, will face South Haven in the Division 2 state quarterfinals on Tuesday at Hope College. First pitch is slated for 5:00 p.m.
