The West Michigan Whitecaps won 10-1 in a completion of Wednesday’s game which was postponed due to rain, and also lost 8-3 in the regularly scheduled Thursday game.

In Game 1, Garrett McCain led the Whitecaps with three hits and one RBI while Cole Peterson had two hits and four RBIs. Brady Policelli added two hits of his own for the Whitecaps while Dylan Rosa had a grand slam.

Clate Schmidt picked up the win in Game 1, striking out five and walking two in three innings of relief work.

In Game 2, Darwin Alvarado led the Whitecaps offense with two hits while starting pitcher Brad Bass took the loss, allowing six earned runs over 3 and 1/3 innings.

West Michigan is now 28-25 overall and 6 and ½ games behind first place Lansing in the Midwest League Eastern Division.

The Whitecaps will travel to Bowling Green on Friday to begin a three game series at 7:35 p.m.
