The West Michigan Whitecaps won their second straight game with a 7-1 victory over Great Lakes on Wednesday.

Starting pitcher Jesus Rodriguez picked up his third win of the season, allowing one run on five hits in six innings of work. Rodriguez also struck out seven.

Jose Azocar led the Whitecaps offense with two RBIs which both came on a home run in the fifth inning. Cole Peterson, Brady Policelli and Ulrich Bojarski all had two hits and one RBI.

The Whitecaps are now 30-28 on the year and in third place of the Midwest League Eastern Division, 7 and ½ games behind first place Lansing.

On Thursday, the Whitecaps will finish off their series with Great Lakes. First pitch is schedule for 7:05 p.m.
