The Muskegon Clippers completed their 42-game season with a 6-1 win over the Irish Hills Leprechauns on Sunday.

The Clippers finished with a 24-18 record, good for fourth place in the Great Lakes Collegiate Summer Baseball League’s Northern Division. Muskegon ended the season one game behind the Saginaw Sugar Beets for the final playoff spot.

Muskegon jumped out to a 2-0 lead after scoring two runs in the second inning.

The Leprechauns responded with their lone run of the game to cut the Muskegon advantage to 2-1 after three frames.

The Clippers added a run in the fifth inning to increase their lead to 3-1 before closing the scoring with three runs in the sixth frame.

Connor Henderson paced Muskegon offensively with two hits, three RBIs and a run scored.

The Clippers also received offensive contributions from Micah Allen with two hits, an RBI and two runs scored.

Jimmy Roche and Nolan Bryant also chipped in with two hits apiece.

Muskegon’s starting pitcher Sean Casey picked up the victory, allowing one run on four hits in seven innings of work.

Bryce Davis and Brendan Nearing each tossed an inning of relief.
