The Muskegon Heights football squad dropped a close 13-12 contest to Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian on Thursday night.

The Tigers trailed 7-0 at halftime after a scoreless first quarter and were down 7-6 heading into the fourth quarter.

Lamonta Townsend threw for 195 yards on 22-for-37 passing with one touchdown for the Tigers.

Townsend was also responsible for the second Tiger touchdown of the night, rushing from the seven yards out.

The Tigers were led defensively by Terrance Williams with 11 tackles. He also caught a touchdown pass.

Muskegon Heights is now 0-2 on the season and will host Detroit Community next Friday.
