The Muskegon Community College volleyball team faced off with league leading Grand Rapids Community College on Thursday and fell in four sets. 
 
The loss puts the Jayhawks in second place with a 2-1 conference record, trailing GRCC by a half game. 
 
Jaren Smith led MCC with eight kills while Julie Brown and Alexis Issette both had seven kills and Amber Jacobs had six kills and two aces. 
 
Katie Veil had 29 assists and nine digs, Shelby Rasch had 24 digs, Haley Garland added 13 digs and Kennedi Bernia had nine digs and three aces for MCC.
