The Muskegon Big Reds rolled past the Grand Rapids Union Red Hawks Friday night, 70-6.

The victory was Muskegon’s final warm-up for next week’s showdown against Mona Shores. Both teams are unbeaten and will be playing for the O-K Black conference title.

The Big Reds took control early, posting 35 points in the first quarter and adding 21 in the second to take a 56-0 lead into halftime.

Muskegon (7-0 overall, 4-0 conference) outscored Grand Rapids Union 14-6 in the second half to seal things up.

The Big Reds got their touchdowns in the first quarter on an 84-yard kick return from Demario Robinson, a 47-yard pick six from Myles Walton, a five-yard run from Cameron Martinez, a 16-yard reception by Quenten Reynolds, and a 20-yard reception by Lamarion Sherrill.

In the second, Johnny Martin had a 13-yard touchdown run, while Bryan Stinson carried one in from 25 yards out and returned an interception for a 59-yard score.

The second-half scores came from Japrie Henderson (15-yard run) and Taylen Williams (40-yard run).

Martinez competed three passes tfor 81 yards and two scores while Sherrill caught two passes for 65 yards and a score.

On the ground, Quontravius Moffett and Williams paced the Big Reds with 71 and 45 yards, respectively.

Taran Walker paced the defense with seven tackles.
