The Holton football team came away with a 25-24 nail biting victory over Martin in Division 8 pre-districts on Friday.

The Red Devils led 7-0 after the first quarter, 13-8 at halftime and 19-16 heading into the fourth quarter. Martin closed out the game with an 8-6 fourth quarter run but failed to complete a comeback.

Aaron Herron led Holton with 105 rushing yards on 22 carries and one touchdown, while Derek Pouch added 97 yards from the ground on 20 attempts and a score. Kaleb Kitchka chipped in with a 42-yard touchdown run.

The Red Devils were led defensively by Draven Wyant and Kitchka with eight tackles each while Pouch, Mitch Ross and Johnny Dominish added six. Ricky Enders contributed with two interceptions.

Holton will face Decatur next weekend for a Division 8 district title.
