The Muskegon Catholic Central football team ended its season on a rough note with a 14-7 loss to Newaygo in non-conference action on Friday.

The Crusaders finished the season with a 3-6 record, and missed the state playoffs for the first time since 2010. The last time they went 3-6 was 1988.

Newaygo scored touchdowns in the first and second quarter and led 14-0 at halftime. MCC got on the board in the fourth quarter with a 72-yard touchdown pass from Nolan Convertini to Dawson Steigman, but could get no closer.

Tiovanni Knight led the Crusaders with 80 yards rushing. Tommy Kartes paced the defense with 13 tackles.
