The North Muskegon volleyball team earned a share of the West Michigan Conference championship by winning the conference tournament on Saturday.

The Norse defeated Whitehall 28-26, 25-17 in the championship match. Whitehall won the regular season title, and North Muskegon earned a share of the overall conference championship by winning the tournament.

North Muskegon defeated Shelby (25-8, 25-9) and Montague (25-16, 25-23) to reach the finals.

Mackenzie Fris and Ellie Hayhurst each had seven kills for the Norse in the title match. Emma Houseman had 20 assists. Defensively, Kasey Firestone led the way with 14 digs.

North Muskegon is now 35-15-1 on the season.

Whitehall defeated Hart and Oakridge to reach the finals. Leading the Vikings in the tournament were Allysin Grans with 23 kills and Jaden Mikkelson with 62 assists.

Montague went 3-1 in the tournament and finished in third place. The Wildcats beat Oakridge, Ravenna and Mason County Central. Lauren Seaver paced Montague on the day with 28 kills.
