The Whitehall tennis team squared off against Grand Rapids Catholic Central and Grand Haven on Wednesday. The Vikings came away with five wins against GRCC and three against the Buccaneers.

Ben Ward won the No. 3 singles match against GRCC 6-2, 6-3, while Ben Stenglein captured the No. 4 singles match 6-0, 6-2.

The Vikings took three doubles matches as well. Teams of Merrick Schmehil and Ashton Trnka (No. 1), Michael Heylmun and Ryan Findorff (No. 2) and Christian Smolen and Austin Groeneveld (No. 4) captured the wins.

Against Grand Haven, teams of Schmehil and Trnka (No. 1) and Smolen and Groeneveld (No. 4) each picked up their second doubles win of the day. Evan Luce and Brendan Vanderkooi also picked up a win in the No. 3 doubles.

Noah Bachmann (No. 1), Mason Price (No. 2), Weston Taylor (No. 3) and Chris Askelberg (No. 4) captured singles wins for Grand Haven. Ian Rant and Carter Preiditis won the No. 2 doubles match.
