The Whitehall boys basketball team won its first game of the season, defeating Mason County Central 58-47 on Friday in a West Michigan Conference game.
The Vikings jumped out to a 16-6 lead after the first quarter, led 29-13 at halftime and had a 36-25 advantage heading into the final stanza.
Ethan McKenzie led Whitehall with 17 points, while Terrell Harris added 16 points and Alfred McGlothlin grabbed 11 rebounds.
The Vikings are now 1-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference play.
The Spartans were paced by Jeffrey Carrier with 28 points and 16 rebounds.
MONTAGUE 66, HART 50 – The Wildcats led 10-9 after the first quarter, 31-26 at halftime and 44-38 after three quarters.
Hunter Mosher led Montague with 17 points, while Peyton Burton contributed with 13 and Nick Stever added 11.
The Wildcats are now 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in league play.
The Pirates were paced by Simon Herrera with 17 points, while Alex Kempker, Ayden Beachum and Hunter Tubbs each added eight.
RAVENNA 56, SHELBY 38- The Bulldogs (2-0,1-0) jumped out to a 15-6 advantage after the first quarter, led 32-18 at halftime and had a 44-29 lead through three quarters.
Josh Cox led Ravenna with 11 points, while Jack Emery added 10 points and six rebounds.
REETHS-PUFFER 56, GREENVILLE 35 – Emcee Williams led the Rockets with 17 points while Kaleb Mitchelson added nine points and five assists. Josh Jordan contributed with eight points and seven rebounds.
Reeths-Puffer led 7-6 after the first quarter, 23-11 at halftime and 42-22 after the third frame.
PENTWATER 68, BALDWIN 28 – The Falcons jumped out to a 21-5 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. Khole Hofmann led Pentwater with 18 points, eight rebounds and six steals. Austin Hofmann added eight points and 15 rebounds.
