The West Michigan Lake Hawks went 2-0 at home over the weekend, defeating the South Bend Monarchs 122-115 on Saturday and the Oakland County Cowboys 183-69 on Sunday.
On Saturday, Ralph Monday led West Michigan with 22 points and eight rebounds off the bench while Arien McDaniel and Jalen Ragland each added 20 points. Xavier Fletcher had a double-double for the Lake Hawks, scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
On Sunday, West Michigan held a 84-36 halftime advantage and used a 52-13 fourth quarter advantage to help dismantle Oakland County.
Ragland led the Lake Hawks on Sunday with 51 points and 10 rebounds while Darien Burse added 27 points, seven assists and four rebounds off the bench. Marquis Brewer added 25 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists while Terry Walker added 20 points and 10 rebounds.
With the victories, West Michigan improves to 5-2 overall on the season, a game and a half behind the Chicago Knights for first place in the ABA North Central Region.
The Lake Hawks will next travel to Lansing to take on the Legends on Saturday at 7 p.m.
