The Muskegon Catholic girls basketball team won its first game of the season, defeating Orchard View 45-25 on Friday in a Lakes 8 game.
The Crusaders jumped out to a quick 16-4 lead after the first quarter, and extended the advantage to 30-9 at halftime.
The Cardinals outscored MCC 16-15 during the second half.
Hannah Lad led the Crusaders with 15 points and four assists while Maria Sanocki chipped in with eight points.
The Cardinals were paced by Allie TenHove with 14 points, eight rebounds and three blocks while Tara McGrath added six points and eight rebounds.
The Crusaders moved to 1-3 on the season and 1-1 in conference play.
LUDINGTON 47, MANISTEE 27- The Orioles led 12-10 after the first quarter, 23-16 at halftime and 33-20 heading into the final stanza.
McKenzie Howe paced Ludington with 15 points and five rebounds, while Zoee Zatarga added 14 points and Laura Gibson chipped in with five assists.
WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 55, MUSKEGON HEIGHTS 3 – Taylor Folkema’s 25-point performance led the Warriors to an easy win.
Anna Systema contributed with 11 points and five rebounds for WMC while Greta Vanderheide had a team-high seven rebounds along with six points.
