The Reeths-Puffer wrestling team had an undefeated day at the Scottville Optimist tournament. The Rockets defeated Allendale 45-26, Mason County Central 69-6, Benzie 81-0, Traverse City St. Francis 72-12 and Shelby 66-12.
Undefeated wrestlers for the Rockets were Noah McKinnon (125), Alex Chipman (130), Jack Tevrucht (135), Jimmy Rozycki (140), Colby Stephenson (171), Gerrit Andrus (189), Hunter McCall (215) and Eric Suttrop (285).
Wrestlers who went 4-1 for Reeths-Puffer were Connor Bloomstrom (103), Jacob Blawat (119), Thade Rodosa (145) and Payton Dobben (171).
Gerald Woodland (112) went 3-1 for the Rockets while Kayden Cilla (160) went 3-2.
Montague Wrestlers Place at Hemlock
Four Montague wrestlers placed in the Hemlock Tournament on Saturday.
Cole Coppess (119) placed second in his weight class while Braeden Kahl (189) also placed second in his weight class. Jordan Aguilara (160) and Aaron Rolf (171) each placed fourth in their respective weight classes for the Wildcats.
Holton goes 1-4 at Forest Hills Eastern Invite
The Red Devils lost to Grand Rapids Northview 47-24 before defeating Muskegon 37-24 for their lone win of the day. Holton rounded out their matches by falling to Spring Lake 54-24, Forest Hills Eastern 58-18 and Holland 60-16.
Jacob Farber went 4-1 on the day for Holton while Riley Moore, Cam Edgerton, Eric German and Juan Quintero Cano went 3-2 on the day.
Muskegon Still Seeking First win after Forest Hills Eastern Invite
The Muskegon wresting team had a rought Saturday, falling to Spring Lake 45-30, Holton 37-24, Forest Hills Eastern 54-30, Holland 80-5 and Northview 47-24.
Gabe Jaimes (285) led the Big Reds on the day with a 2-0 record while Nate Crump (145) went 4-1 and Jamarion Herron (285) went 2-1.
Spring Lake goes 3-2 at Forest Hills Eastern
The Spring Lake wrestling team defeated Muskegon 45-30, Holton 54-24, and Northview 45-30 while falling to Holland 45-26 and Forest Hills Eastern 54-30.
Max Montgomery, Trystan Ball and Jamie Holt all went 5-0 for the Lakers while Colin Huch went 4-0. Both Jack Parker and Nate DeRose each went 4-1 for Spring Lake.
Shelby goes 4-1 at Scottville Optimist
The Shelby wrestling team defeated Hesperia 57-24, Ludington 72-12, Orchard View 42-36 and Newaygo 84-0 while falling 66-12 to Reeths-Puffer.
Nick Felt (152) led the Tigers by going 5-0 while Jovan Ramos (112), Will Kidder (125), Jose Mendoza (171) and Jakob Whitlow (189) went 4-1 on the day.
