Kent City’s Eli Carlson made five three-pointers in the second half, giving the Eagles the edge they needed to hold off Ludington 56-52 on Friday in a non-league matchup between two good teams.
Ludington had a big fourth quarter and pulled within three points, powered by Brayden Porter, who scored 13 of his 16 points in the last eight minutes. But Kent City hit its free throws down the stretch to preserve the victory.
Carlson finished with a game-high 25 points for Kent City. Josh Laman paced Ludington with 18 points.
