The Kent City girls basketball squad captured its fifth straight conference title with a win over Holton 73-26 on Friday in C.S.A.A action.

Mackenzie Bowers had a team-high 21 points for the Eagles, while Zara Weber chipped in with 19 and Jenna Harrison also scored in double figures with 17.

Kent City jumped out to a 26-12 lead after the first quarter, led 47-19 at halftime and had a 66-23 advantage through three quarters.

The Eagles are now 16-2 on the season and 10-0 in league play.

FREMONT 44, CHIPPEWA HILLS 35 – The Fremont girls basketball team had a great first half, leading 15-5 after the first quarter and taking a 24-11 lead into halftime.

The Packers were outscored 9-7 in the third frame.

Natalie Jamieson paced the Packers with 16 points. Haley Zerlaut added 11 points while Paige Vandenberg had a team-high 15 rebounds and three blocked shots.

O-K BLACK CONFERENCE

MUSKEGON 77, FRUITPORT 23 – Alyza Winston paced the Big Reds with 31 points and five assists while Diynasti Dowell added eight points and six rebounds. Brianna Alexander chipped in with eight points.

Muskegon jumped out to a 20-7 lead after the first quarter and led 40-16 at halftime. The Big Reds outscored Fruitport 19-5 during the third frame.

O-K RED CONFERENCE

EAST KENTWOOD 57, GRAND HAVEN 20 – The Bucs trailed 11-5 after the first quarter but held a close 22-21 advantage at the half. Grand Haven was then outscored 15-10 in the third quarter.

Alli Keyser led the Bucs with 19 points. Esther Byington followed with eight points and eight rebounds while Jolee Houlse finished with seven points and four assists.

Grand Haven fell to 15-3 overall and 8-3 in the OK Red conference.
