The Grand Haven girls basketball squad suffered its first defeat on the season, falling to West Ottawa 41-39 on Tuesday in an O-K Red Conference showdown.

The Bucs led 24-20 at halftime and 31-24 through three quarter, but only managed to score eight points during the final stanza while allowing 17.

Ali Keyser paced Grand Haven with 15 points and five steals while Esther Byington added nine points and three blocks.

The Bucs are now 12-1 on the season and 5-1 in league play.
