The North Muskegon boys basketball team took a big step in its push for another West Michigan Conference championship with a 57-45 victory over a good Ravenna squad on Friday.

The Norsemen started the game off hot and took a 25-17 lead going into the half.

The Bulldogs didn’t lay down, outscoring the Norsemen 21-13 in the third quarter and tying the game 38-38 at the buzzer.

But North Muskegon found its stride again in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Bulldogs by 12 to come away with the conference victory.

TJ McKenzie led the Norse with 25 points and 10 rebounds while Jesse Cook tallied eight points and eight rebounds.

The Norsemen improved to 14-1 overall and 9-1 in conference play while the Bulldogs fell to 11-4 this season and 7-3 in conference play.
