The North Muskegon boys basketball team improved to 18-1 on the season with an overwhelming 68-33 non-league victory over Saugatuck on Tuesday.

The Norse ran up a 38-10 lead at halftime, which forced a running clock in the third quarter.

TJ McKenzie led North Muskegon with 17 points. Mack Young finished with nine
points while Jesse Cooke added eight points and seven rebounds.

CSAA

FREMONT 73, TRI-COUNTY 40 – The Packers went on an offensive surge in the first half, leading 24-5 after the first quarter and 50-22 at halftime.

Logan Karnemaat led the way with 22 points, Tristan Campbell added 12 points and
eight rebounds, while Julian Echavarria and Noah Christensen scored eight and
seven points, respectively.

Joshua Zerfas had a team-high nine assists for Fremont.

Notching their 15th straight win, the Packers improved to 17-1 overall and 12-1 in
conference play.

NON-LEAGUE

LUDINGTON 68, MASON COUNTY CENTRAL 40 – The Orioles had several players score in double figures in their neighborhood victory over the Spartans.

Ludington outscored the Spartans 23-14 in the second quarter and carried a 37-26 advantage into halftime. Ludington shot the lights out from beyond the arc, knocking down 12 three-pointers on the night.

Josh Laman paced the Orioles with 18 points. Brayden Porter had 15 while Jayden Hathaway finished with 13 for Ludington.

Jeffrey Carrier led the Spartans with 15 points.

MONTAGUE 55, WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 26 – Hunter Mosher’s double-double led the visiting Wildcats to a nonconference victory.

The Wildcats took control early, leading 13-8 after the first quarter and 29-15 going into halftime.

Mosher led Montague with 19 points, 13 rebounds and five assists. Kenyan Johnston finished with 10 points for the Wildcats while Nick Stever knocked down three 3-pointers and totaled nine points.

Owen Varnado led WMC with seven points and seven rebounds.

The Wildcats improved to 9-10 overall and 5-8 in the West Michigan Conference.

ORCHARD VIEW 72, SHELBY 43 – The score was tied 11-11 after one quarter, but Orchard View’s offense lit it up in the second, scoring 22 points to take a 33-18 halftime lead.

Ke’ontae Barnes paced the Cardinals with 19 points. Brady Bowen added 18 while Davion Lane finished with 12 points and 10 boards.

Leading the Tigers was Isaiah Frye with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Tyler Schouten added 10 points and five assists.

MUSKEGON CATHOLIC 72, HART 42 – The Crusaders got off to a great start, leading 23-10 after the first quarter and 42-18 at the half. MCC applied the knockout punch by outscoring Hart 19-9 in the third frame.

Andre Watson II led Muskegon Catholic with 15 points and five assists. Jared Dugener, Seth Arends and Sam Novotny each added 10 points, while Dugener snared seven rebounds.

Simon Herrera paced Hart with 12 points.

Muskegon Catholic improved to 12-6 overall.

RAVENNA 74, WHITE CLOUD 35 – The Bulldogs jumped out to an 18-8 lead after one quarter and carried a 38-20 advantage into the half. Ravenna put on an offensive clinic in the third, outscoring White Cloud 25-6.

Josh Cox paced the Bulldogs with 15 points. Jacob May finished with 12 points and had a team-high seven rebounds. Trevor Sterken added 10 points while Josh VanderWoude had a team-high seven assists.

ALLIANCE LEAGUE

GRAND RIVER PREP 86, FRUITPORT CALVARY CHRISTIAN 54 – The Eagles fell behinc 28-15 after the first quarter and never had a chance to recover.

Ben Zelenka paced Fruitport Calvary with 19 points. The Eagles wrapped up their regular season at 8-10 overall and 7-5 in conference play.
