Don’t forget to get your team signed up for the first annual Local Sports Journal Golf Outing, slated for Friday, June 2 at Oakridge Golf Club!
The 18-hole scramble, with four-player teams, will start at 9 a.m. The event will include lunch at the turn and dinner afterward, provided by Bella Maria’s restaurant.
One highlight will be a Hole-in-One Challenge, sponsored by Deur-Speet Motors. Anyone hitting a hole-in-one on the 8th hole will win a 2017 Jeep Renegade. Aces on the 2nd , 14th or 16th holes will be rewarded with other great prizes, including a four-day golf vacation to the French Lick Resort in Indiana, a Travis Mathew signature golf outfit, and a set of Taylor Made golf irons.
The registration fee is $100 per person. Proceeds will help Local Sports Journal continue and expand its great coverage of high school, college, semipro and professional sports along the lakeshore.
LSJ has been on duty for the past five years, picking up where the old local newspaper sports section left off, with online coverage of area sporting events, and publication of the monthly, full-color Local Sports Journal magazine.

Hi LSJ – Not sure if anyone covers these so I am sharing!
Today, in Ludington, the Musk Catholic Central boys golf team placed 3rd in the 18 team Ludington Invitational at Lincoln Hills Golf Club. Ludington won the invitational with Grandville coming in second.
MCC senior Collin Powers had a good day and was the Invitational Medalist and led all golfers with a four under par 68. The next lowest score was a 75.
