Mona Shores teammates Andrew VanAelst and Reed Hrynewich are tied for 12th after two rounds of the Coca-Cola Junior Classic Championship at Boyne Highlands in Harbor Springs.

Hrynewich was tied for the lead after shooting a 70 in the opening round. His 75 gave him a two-round score of 145 heading into Thursday’s final round. VanAelst shot a 73 in the second round after his first-round score of 72.

Kyle Gaines shot a 70-72-142 and sits atop the leaderboard.

In the girls division, Mona Shores Hailey Hrynewich is tied for 12th. She improved to 77 in the second round after an 81 on the opening day.

Other area golfers include Morgan Smith who is tied for 20th (89-74-163) along with Aya Johnson (85-78-163). Kelsey McKinley improved 14 strokes in the second round with an 81. She is at 176.
