The Michigan Department of Natural Resources

Ludington State Park will host a “basics of fishing” clinic at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Hamlin Dam.

Young anglers will learn to cast, bait a hook, remove a hook from a fish and why the DNR has certain fishing rules in place.

The program is for beginners or those with very little experience in fishing. Anyone ages 17 and older must have a valid Michigan fishing license with them.

In order to fish, participants must be present for the entire program.
