Radio stations WLCS- FM 98.3 and WVIB-FM 100.1 along with Local Sports Journal have announced a partnership that will benefit Muskegon area sports fans starting with the fast-approaching high school football season.

Jon Russell, operations manager and high school play-by-play at WLCS-FM along with Jason Goorman and Ron Rop, co-publishers of Local Sports Journal, announced the partnership today.

“We’re thrilled to be working closely with Local Sports Journal,” said Russell. “We look forward to a great working relationship, sharing information and scores especially with the high school football season just around the corner.”

“We are excited to partner up with WLCS and WVIB in this venture,” Rop said. “We know how important sports are to Muskegon area sports fans so this just makes perfect sense for us to work together.”

“Muskegon area sports fans are very engaged followers and we want to make every effort to give them access to news and game coverage.” Goorman said.

Local Sports Journal is a newly formed website that launched June 10. The staff and contributing writers have more than 100 years of experience covering sports in the Muskegon area.

WLCS-FM 98.3 broadcasts a game of the week from throughout the area while WVIB-FM 100.1 will follow the Muskegon Big Reds throughout the season. WLCS also broadcasts its weekly Shoreline Sport and Spine Power Hour from 5-6 p.m.
