A four-hole playoff was needed to determine the overall winner of the 28th annual Randy Wise Junior Golf Tournament on Wednesday.
In the end, Nick Carlson of Hamilton defeated Ryan Jahn of Jupiter, Fla. and claimed top honors. The tournament was played a Warwick Hills in Grand Blanc.
Finishing one shot behind was Mona Shores golfer Reed Hrynewich, who ended up tied for third place. Hrynewich struggled to a 77 in the first round, but regrouped in the final two rounds and shot 71 in each round. His three-day total was 219.
Andrew VanAelst shot a 77 on Thursday and finished at 227. He came in third for 14th.
On the girls side, North Muskegon’s Aya Johnson shot a final-round score of 75 and finished 10th at 232.
Ont spot behind her was Mona Shores’ Hailey Hrynewich, who finished at 234. Her final round total was 78.
Morgan Smith came in tied for 18th after her 83 gave her a three-day total of 244.
The tournament was interrupted by a 3 1/2-hour rain delay Thursday morning.
