Muskegon Community College may have dropped a 1-0 women’s soccer game to Delta College, but Coach Josh Watson saw plenty of positives in his team.

“The ladies played a very good game today,” Watson said. “They showed what they are capable of in certain parts of the game.”

Delta scored the game’s lone goal in the 60th minute.

Muskegon CC had its share of chances, but could not put a shot into the net.

Jayhawk goalkeeper Emily Manchester made seven saves in net. Watson also lauded the efforts of Karlee Schreur.

“The team played the best soccer this season so far against a top opponent in our region,” Watson said. “Their spirit and mentality were great today.”

MCC finished with five shots.
