KELLOGGSVILLE – The Whitehall Vikings’ offense got rolling early on in a 27-12 victory over Kelloggsville on Friday night.

The Vikings scored three first-quarter touchdowns to take a quick 21-0 lead. It wasn’t until the second half that Kelloggsville could push the ball into the end zone twice.

Antwan Burks rushed 21 times for 127 yards and a 15-yard touchdown run. Later in the opening quarter, Joe Sika scored on a 2-yard run. The first-quarter scoring wasn’t complete until quarterback Steven Sika hooked up with twin brother Joe Sika on a 70-yard touchdown pass.

That duo connected again in the second quarter, this time from 12 yards out.

Steven Sika rushed 10 times for 99 yards, Joe Sika rushed eight times for 81 yards and Devontae Vance rushed 20 times for 82 yards. In all, Whiteall rushed for 411 yards.

Steven Sika completed 4-of-6 passes for 136 yards. Joe Sika caught three passes for 133 yards.

Leaders on defense were Javon Gonser with seven tackles, three for loss, and on sack, Javon Sims with six tackles and Nick Decuto with an interception.

“We know Kelloggsville pretty well,” Viking coach Cliff Sandee said. “They’ve been in the playoffs six or eight years. We knew what we had coming, a lot of team speed and their are well coached.

“It’s always good to get that first one out of the way, but we have a whole bunch to work on,” Sandee said.k
