The Muskegon Catholic Central Crusaders chalked one up in the victory column on Friday night with a 43-6 victory over the Grant Tigers.

MCC (1-2) had two rushers eclipse the 100-yard mark, led by Alex Lewandoski with 14 rushes for 159 yards.  Jessie Anderson rushed 13 times for 107 yards.

“We played much better,” MCC coach Mike Holmes said. “We made some mistakes, but a victory gives us the right mindset heading into Week 4.” The Crusaders travels to McBain next week.

Zach Campell added two rushing touchdowns. In all, he rushed seven times for 42 yards. Both of Tommy Scott’s rushes resulted in touchdowns. For the game, Muskegon Catholic rushed 50 times for 422 yards.

“The wind was blowing and we got off to a lead,” Holmes said. “We also blocked a punt that went out of the end zone for a safety.” Scott blocked the punt.

Defensively, MCC was led by Lewandoski with 15 tackles. Phil Mesker had six tackles and Brant McCollum had five.

Grant was led offensively by Brandon Bouwkamp with 11 rushes for 73 yards.
