Spring Lake guns down Orchard View in soccer battle of ranked teams

Days after taking care of business on the soccer field against their cross-river rival, the Spring Lake Lakers did the same against a highly-ranked league rival.

The Lakers scored five second-half goals on Tuesday and blanked the Orchard View Cardinals 7-0 in a Lakes 8 game played at the home of the Lakers.

Spring Lake (6-0) came into the game ranked No. 3 in Division 2 and OV (5-2) was ranked No. 2 in Division 4.

Last week, Spring Lake routed Grand Haven 6-0.
