Fremont’s defense returned three interceptions for touchdowns Friday, but it wasn’t enough in a 28-20 nonconference loss at Leslie.

The Packers trailed 14-0 late in the second quarter before John Wiggers returned an interception 58 yards to cut the lead to 14-7. Leslie would score again for a 22-7 lead at the half.

Mike Siegel returned a pick 76 yards for the only score in the third quarter and Fremont only trailed 22-13 heading into the fourth.

But Fremont’s offense never found the endzone and fell behind 28-13 before Wiggers returned his second interception 42 yards for a score, cutting the lead to 28-20.

Fremont’s Christian Wade finished 11-of-30 passing for 142 yards, Siegel caught five passes for 82 yards and Jared Smith led the ground game with 11 carries for 41 yards.
