Grand Haven couldn’t hold off a late rally as Hudsonville scored with 18 seconds left for a thrilling 20-16 win over the host Bucs in OK Red Conference action Friday.

Trailing 12-10 heading into the fourth quarter, Grand Haven scored on a pair of Ryan Maguire field goals, the first from 26 yards away and the last, 32 yards, with two minutes left in the game.

But Hudsonville drove the field and Mason Opple found Dakota Butcher from 5 yards out for the final tally of the game.

The Bucs led 10-0 at halftime after Aaron Gordon’s 13-yard run and Maguire’s first field goal of the game from 21 yards out.

Abe Westerman led GH with 21 carries for 72 yards and Isaak Newhouse added 51 yards on nine carries and 66 yards receiving on six catches. Michael Penland passed for 117 yards for the Bucs while Tyler Tippens (10 tackles) and Jeff Olson (seven) led the defense.
