High school girls regional golf tournaments set for this week

The MHSAA girls golf regionals will be contested Wednesday through Friday this week.

Ten area teams will be competing at four different sites. The format consists of 18 holes of stroke play. The top three teams will advance to the state finals along with the top three individuals from non-qualifying teams.

Wednesday
Division 2: Reeths-Puffer and Mona Shores will compete at The Links at Bowen Lake Golf Club in Greenville. Mona Shores is the three-time defending state champion and is ranked No. 1 in the state.

Thursday
Division 1: The lone local entrant is Grand Haven, which will compete at Sunnybrook Country Club in Hudsonville.

Division 4: Milham Park Golf Club near Kalamazoo will host the regional, which includes Muskegon Catholic and Western Michigan  Christian.

Friday
Division 3: Five local teams – Fremont, Fruitport, Ludington, Spring Lake and Whitehall – will battle for a regional title at Egypt Valley Country Club. Forest Hills Eastern is serving as the host school.
