“I am very excited for being given the opportunity to play hockey at the college level,” Foguth said. “The coaching staff and players at the university made me feel welcome and right at home.

“It has been a long journey for my family and I, and I am grateful to have received an immense amount of support from the Mervis family and the Muskegon Lumberjacks.”

In 10 games this season, Foguth has one goal and one assist. In 89 games in two previous seasons, he had 11 points.

Foguth is in his third season with the Lumberjacks. He was acquired as a free agent in July, 2010. Prior to his stint with Muskegon, Foguth played with the Marquette Rangers of the North American Hockey League.

The Jacks complete their four-game homestand this weekend with 7:15 p.m. games on Friday and Saturday night. The Dubuque Fighting Saints will provide the opposition.
